Description

Associate Director of Experience Design

At Connelly Partners, the Associate Director of Experience Design leads the day-to-day operations of the Experience Strategy practice. They oversee the development and delivery of every UX artifact and project that flows through the organization. This position gets its hands dirty — and delights equally in creating a great document for a client and in helping guide a junior UX designer to great work of their own.

The right candidate will be able to point to artifacts they’ve developed — wireframes, information architecture, user flows, journeys — and explain the thinking and process behind them in ways that both clients and internal teams find valuable. They’ll understand the value of collaboration with visual designers and technology teams — and will foster that level of communication in junior UX teams.

The Associate Director will operate with at least 90% independence from upper XS/XD management. They will have extraordinary latitude to establish and evolve the way in which our agency approaches UX, in collaboration with in-house brand and experience strategy teams.

The Associate Director reports to the Director of Experience Strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualizes, invents, and introduces methods and experience design offerings

  • Creation and delivery of our most-common UX artifacts: wireframe, information architecture, user flows, customer journeys

  • Solid presentation and client management skills

  • An understanding and ability to design for and speak to a broad array of media

  • Demonstrates strong influence in department-to-company relationship-building

  • Leads and designs for very complex systems and sets of interactions

  • Self-sufficient when designing brand/idea ecosystems

Experience:

Our ideal candidate will be comfortable in a multi-disciplinary environment, working with deadlines and can be a central part of the creative process.
