Software Architect

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Software Architect owns all technical aspects of client activity and participates on all aspects of that client's business, fulfilling all the requirements as outlined in the project documentation.

Software Architects are aware of the client's goals, helps develop scope, project documentation and timeline assets.

Software Architects also help drive the departments technical direction and best practices, mentor and grow teammates around them by answering questions, finding new innovative solutions.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• 5 to 8 years development experience.
• Perform the role of developer on multiple projects simultaneously, reliably meeting deadlines and delivering fully functional web projects
• Participates/leads in scoping and documenting technical solutions ensuring clarity and adherence from all parties.
• Ability to lead a client/project team, clearly communicating to all parties internal and external.
• Passion to learn, explore and encourage the development team to utilize new web platforms, emerging standards, tools and best practices
• Help mentor and guide the careers of other Development team members around you
• Work closely with Brand Managers and Digital Producers to lead a variety of digital projects ensuring clear and timely communication
• Manage internal and external development resources on a project, ensuring that they are enabled for success and have clear tasks and deliverables.

• SKILLS REQUIRED:
• Expert developer in either PHP, Node, Ruby, Python or other open source development languages
• Expert understanding of the software development life cycle process and methodologies like; Waterfall, Agile and software maintenance processes
• Expert in HTML5, CSS3, Javascript, SVG, Canvas
• Expert understanding of Database management (MySQL, NoSQL and/or PostgresSQL)
• Expert understanding of web application performance
• Expert understanding of web application security
• Proficient with DevOps tools (Git, Gulp, Grunt, Deploybot, Jenkins) and processes
• Proficient in interfacing with 3rd party applications, API and SaaS/PaaS providers
• Familiar with at least one modern Javascript framework: Angular, React, Backbone, Ember or other similar frameworks
• Familiar in working with Hybrid-Native or Native application development
• Familiar with web accessibility guidelines and accessibility implementation
• Knowledgeable of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and other related analytics platforms
• Knowledgeable of online marketing metrics for websites, email, social media, paid media, PPC and SEO.
• Has thoughtful opinions and can lead a technical conversation with internal stakeholders and external clients
• Burning desire to push the envelope and continually improve process and ability of all team members.
• Comes from a creative/design background and can work brainstorm potential applications with the creative department
• Delegates tasks to other team members and can lead external resources on projects
